My research interests include machine learning and learning theory, in particular the study of ranking and other complex learning problems. I am also interested in applications of machine learning methods, particularly in the life sciences, and in connections between machine learning and other disciplines such as economics, operations research, and psychology. More broadly, I am excited by research at the intersection of computer science, mathematics, and statistics, and its ability to turn data into actionable insights in both natural and social sciences.
